HIATUS
When our world changes dramatically, we often experience chaos. Everything becomes uncertain and a struggle, often with a radical intensity. But chaos can at the same time be an instrument to manipulate and to exert power.
Which forces play when everything around us changes? What are the mental and physical consequences of unrest? And can chaos also herald a new beginning?
As a dancer, Helder Seabra was a key figure in the creations of Wim Vandekeybus and Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui. Since a few years he also gets more and more recognition as a choreographer. Theater Bremen and the German dance company Unusual Symptoms now ask Seabra to choreograph a dance performance outside of Belgium for the first time. In addition to the fantastic dancers from Theater Bremen and Unusual Symptoms, he brings along actor Michai Geyzen and musician Stijn Vanmarsenille from Belgium. Geyzen was still Artist in Residence in the Warande in 2015-2016 and makes performances at Laika and the Mannschaft. Musical devil-does-al Vanmarsenille provided the soundscapes in Seabra's previous performances and will undoubtedly take you on a musical trip to the abyss of decay.
